The 4 Types of People

There are 4 types of people.
Imagine you will be paid one million pounds if you go to a stadium and hit a home run (I know mixing both sides of The Pond).
The first type of person will pick up the bat, see that the pitcher is great, put the bat down and walk away.
The second type of person will take a swing, miss and then leave.
The third type of person will swing a few times, miss and then start listening to the boos of the crowd before giving up.
The fourth type of person will swing. Swing some more. Then swing again. Hours will go by. The crowd will boo them, but they won't care. After 10 hours "bang" they'll sweetly strike the ball and it will sail out of sight.
Those who were booing will now cheer and the person changes from selfish for not giving someone else a chance, to a hero in an instant.
Be the fourth type of person. Keep swinging. Because one day you'll connect.
My friend and I started our Youtube channel TheNeurosurgeons 6 months ago.
For years I thought about starting a channel but never did. When we did start, we had very few views. Then some people gave me advice I didn't ask for about "the dangers of posting on social media".
Yesterday I was interviewed about our channel for a piece in our local paper.
The day before that someone shouted our intro line to me in our operating theatres.
We still have a long way before our home run, but it's a start.
Pick up the bat. Don't be discouraged by the misses and the boos.
Just keep swinging.
